Group looks at Cuba's influence on press freedom in the Americas

A press association that promotes free expression in the Americas will
take a look at the situation for journalists in Cuba and how the
communist island's influence on other countries in the region.

The discussion follows preliminary reports by the group's member
countries that at least nine journalists in the region were killed in
the last six months. Two others disappeared. Three paper delivery men
also were killed.

Florida Governor Charlie Crist and the president of Honduras are also
expected to address the Inter American Press Association's 63rd General
Assembly.

More than 500 delegates from news publications across the Western
Hemisphere are attending.
